“Either you marry or you die. If you are a Christian, then there is no place for you in this city. You will die here alone.”
These are the words Tara heard from her Muslim father after she was caught with a Bible. Her story is not unique among the women featured in Hearts of Fire. From a young Vietnamese girl who turned down freedom in order to share the gospel in her communist homeland, to an Australian missionary who spread the message of forgiveness and healing across India after her husband and sons were burned alive, these eight women overcame extreme adversity to emerge as Christian leaders in hostile and restricted nations around the world.
